Charitable donations “in lieu of flowers” for funeral has become increasingly popular. Families have discovered that through the difficult experience of losing a loved one that they can raise memorial donations in honor of that person and help raise money for a meaningful cause. Being a 4th generation funeral home owner, we have realized that the memorial charitable giving process can improve therefore helping raise much more money for good.
At Funeralgiv, we work directly with your funeral home to help raise more money for your charity by creating a clear “donate now” button directly in your loved one’s online obituary. And secondly, we follow up with a report to the immediate family with reporting of how much $ was raised and by who. This is so important because you want the family to know a donation has been made and the family absolutely wants to be able to thank who made the donation.

Unfortunately, recently I have experienced two deaths where I made contributions. At one of the funeral homes I wrote a paper check, I received a note from the Church (charity) a month after the funeral and as of now I still have not received any acknowledgment from the family.
